When you create a Turnout account, we collect your email address, display name, and profile image through our authentication provider (Google OAuth via Clerk). We also collect usage data including trades placed, market activity, and platform interactions to improve your experience and maintain platform integrity.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate and improve the Turnout platform, including processing trades, displaying leaderboard rankings, enabling discussion features, preventing fraud and abuse, and communicating important platform updates. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Public Information
Your display name and trading performance (including P&L and positions) may be visible to other users on the leaderboard and in market comment threads. Your email address is never publicly displayed.
4. Third-Party Services
Turnout uses third-party services to operate the platform, including Clerk (authentication), Supabase (database), and Vercel (hosting). These providers may process your data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We select providers that maintain industry-standard security practices.
5. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and access controls on our database. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Cookies and Analytics
Turnout uses essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We may use analytics tools to understand how users interact with the platform. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account information and trading history for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, though anonymized trading data may be retained for platform integrity purposes.
8. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under GDPR including data portability and the right to restrict processing.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use of Turnout after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
